tina: The instructors at the Kendall rink are outstanding! How much one gets out of a class depends also on the other kids who are signed up but each of the instructors is very old and in sync with what beginners and advanced skaters need. My kid had skated there for three years and ends up taking a class or individual lessons for a particular skill every season. Some kids show up there every day after school to just skate, and the instructors always look out for them.
