The MIT Museum celebrates women in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Visitors can expect to explore, create, and investigate with scientists from many local universities. This November we will be exploring the complex and curious world of neuroscience. Hands-on activities, informal talks, and demonstrations are included with admission.
Prism goggles, neural mapping, optical illusions and mind tricks, and optogenetics in worms. Also a "live painting" of a 6' canvas by Daniela Gamba, illustrator and Gamemaster at Eyewire.
Recommended for ages 10+ but all are welcome.
11 a.m. Short talks by female neuroscientists
12 - 4 p.m. Hands-on experiments and demonstrations
3 p.m. Neural Mural making
