Hello!
The STEAM Saturdays Program at Belmont Day School exposes students from diverse backgrounds to unique experiences in the STEAM fields that will inspire them to further explore their budding interests. From November through April, one Saturday each month will feature a specialized 1-1.5 hour workshop led by Belmont Day faculty for students in Grades 3-6.
The next workshop, “Apple Annihilator,” will take place on Saturday, December 14th at 10:00 AM. Did you know energy frequently changes form from one to another, but it can never be created nor destroyed? In this STEAM activity, students will learn about the physics of a wrecking ball and get to build one themselves! We will talk about the Law of Conservation of Energy as well as Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion, which while guide them as they construct their own wrecking ball.
Register early on the website as spaces fill up! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/steam-saturdays-2-tickets-83242096351
